Forging alliances with public and private institutions has been one of the axes of Grupo Pellas’ social commitment.
The companies that make up the consortium have established alliances with organizations such as American Nicaraguan Foundation (ANF), which from 1992 to 2014 has collected 1.671 billion dollars in support for the most vulnerable sectors of the country; Asociación Pro Niños Quemados de Nicaragua (Aproquen), which since 1991 has provided over 495,000 services completely free of charge to burnt children. Aproquen also provides care to patients with congenital malformations such as cleft lip and cleft palate; Centro Empresarial Pellas (CEP), founded in 2006, has benefited with its projects over a thousand small and medium enterprises, which have thus increased by 30 percent its sales through financial support and training offered by this foundation; the valuable alliance established with INCAE, the most prestigious business school in Latin America, that Carlos Pellas has supported in the last 10 years. He has made a huge contribution to the development of the region through the funds of the Carlos F. Pellas Ch. Scholarship, which until 2015 had benefited 209 young Central Americans that were prepared in INCAE to contribute to the transformation of their countries. He also led an impressive renovation at the Nicaraguan Campus Francisco de Sola.
Grupo Pellas is also a major sponsor in art and culture, supporting multiple activities that are developed by civil society. Examples in Nicaragua are: the Reading Campaign “Let's read, It's fun!”; the International Film Festival ICARO; the International Poetry Festival of Granada; the Nicaraguan Folkloric Ballet.
It is also notable for its support to other initiatives of much impact such as the Telethon, held annually in favor of disabled children, from which it is its main donor.
